Sedlescombe 16th and 17th of June

Playing the front 9 on Thursday and the back 9 on Friday. Finishing level par, I made better choices for shots than on previous rounds.
1. Tee shot on the first was straight into the wind and I hit it well just right of centre. I left myself 165 uphill against the wind, I gripped down a 5 iron and held my wrists off to keep it low. It fired off low straight at the flag , never moved from the stick and finished 4 feet away. I rolled it in nicely.
2. Hit long tee shot on 6 downwind , nearly hit people in front! Left 85 yards over a bunker to a tight pin. Cut a SW over the pit past the flag. Rolled in the 15 foot putt for birdie
3. Tee shot on 10, 150 yards with 8 iron that pitched 5 foot short and ran up to 18 inches.

Hit a wedge on 4 to a blind pin, landed nicely in middle of green.
Hit som good recurs tee shot, caught them out the middle , not heel! Putted the ball in from just off the 14th green for a par!

Knole Park 15th of June

Played skins again with Tim and Tom.

1. On the third hole I hit a good rescue club down the hill to the fairway, then played a wedge from 120 straight at the flag, leaving me ten feet down the hill, which I holed
2. On the 16th par three I cut a 6 iron against the wind and it held up nicely and went to 10 feet.
3. On the last hole I drove well on the blind hole leaving 109 to the flag, I hit a three quarter SW that swung in from the left with the wind, pitched on the front edge and rolled down to 3 feet which I rolled in for birdie

Had 3 birdies and had the lowest score of the three of us, but won the least skins

Tenterdon Golf Club 7/6/2011

Played skins again with Tim and Tom. It was very windy, but the recent rain had made it less bouncy.
started shabbily again but was unfortunate a couple of times, driving into ditches. Best shot was a cut 6 iron into a coss wind on 16 which pitched on the green pin high, and I two putted to win a skin
On the last I hit a five iron into the wind and pitched nicely on the green
Drive a blind par 4 10th with an intentional slice round the corner

Westerhan Golf Club 6/6/2011

Played with Tomo and Tim, Oliver cried off due to the prospect of rain. We played skins again. I started very scrappily and Tom was a couple of skins up quickly. My first decent played hole was the 9th, hit an iron off the tee (first fairway hit,lots of pulls!) and played a sandwedge at the flag from just over 100 yards. I spun it just off the green, still close to the flag though. I took the flag out and chipped up the hill with a 7 iron, it bike hard left at the hole and dropped perfectly in the hole.
On the last par 5 after pulling my tee shot again, I hit a 9 iron over the trees back to the fairway. Tom had hit the green in 2, but the flag was at the back. He had left himself a long putt. I had just over 100 yards and flew my ball right to the hole and rolled it in for a birdie. Tomo missed his putt and I won the hole.
Recovery shot on the 17th was good, had to slice a low 4 iron out the trees and run it down to the green. The ball finished just short and I nearly chipped in with a sw!
Played the last well, good drive and a sw from 100 the pitched next to the hole, missed the putt, and Tim won his first skins!

Lydd Golf Club 20/5/2011

Played with Ben against Stimo and Tom.

Started well again with 2 birdies in the first to holes! It was very windy and the ground was hard. Greens were pretty good though.

1. After hooking my drive on the first it ran just into a ditch, I could play it just. Tom had already driven the green, so I needed to get up and down for a half. My 30 yard wedge shot rolled up to 3 feet!
2. On the second hole I put my approach just over and chipped down the green into the hole with an 8 iron
3. After hitting a very good tee shot on the last par 5, I still had a long way to go , 250 against the wind. Hit a very well struck 5 wood that pulled up just short.

Accidentally hit a swan!

Ben and I won 2 & 1!

Cherry Lodge 19/5/2011

Playing with Tim and Tom, we played skins. Started well with 4 birdies in the first 8 holes, finished with 5 altogether scored a 70, 2 under par.
1. Drove the ball well all day with only one that got me into trouble. Swinging smoothly definatley helps!
2. Two occasions I holed long putts for birdie, and they were for a halfed skin. On the 14th I holed a snaker after Tim rolled his in for a birdie. On the 1st after being under a tree, I managed to chip and run onto the front edge and roll a very long putt in for birdie with Tom 3 feet away with a birdie putt.
3. Best struck shot was a five iron on our last hole the 8th,215 yards downhill held my wrists off and hit a really penetrating shot to the flag!

I won 10 skins, Tom won 6 and Tim won 2. £6 profit!

Sundridge Park east course 18/5/2011

Played with Big Dave against Oliver and Tom.
1. Good drive on the 3rd which just got me round the corner, 175 yards away and I hit a smooth 7 iron that went high and drew into the flag and stopped 15 feet away.
2. Hit the putt nicely and it turned from the left edge into the centre. Eagle!


3. On the 13th hit a drive down the left and played a six iron just left of the green. Played a running low sand iron chip up the green to 18 inches fir a birdie and to win the hole.

Beauport Park 16/05/2011

Playing with Oliver and Tom, its Toms first time!
1 Drive on 8, from the White tees, managed to hit a draw that ran up the saddle and left me a 9 iron in.
2 Tee shot on 11, flag was back left, hit 5 iron like Oliver and followed him in by pitching it up by the flag, looked great in the air!
3 3rd shot on 2, par 5. After playing second shot to the middle of the fairway, hit nine iron that ran up the green to 5 feet.

Also holed a nice 15 foot birdie put on 10, hit monster drive on 13, and smashed a 15 foot downhill putt in for birdie on 17.

Lamberhurst April 2011

Playing with Ben against Tom and Tim
1. Tee shot on 18, after driving poorly, drove the green and two putted for a birdie
2. Putt on 18, rolled the eagle putt just past the hole fro 40 feet
3. Drive across corner on 9, left a short pitch to the green.

Crowborough Beacon 10/5/11

Played with Ben against Ollie and Tom

1. Chip from just off the green on ten, Tom and ben were on the green, Tom putted first and holed, with the flag out I chip and ran 7 iron into the hole. For a birdie and a half.
2. Second shot on 18,after a good drive, just running out of room on the right. Only just in the heather, hit a wedge from 140 downwind, lands just short and runs up to 5 feet, which I hole for a birdie.
3. Missing the green on 17 by a few feet, leaves me a 15 yard chip n run with an 8 iron, which I hole after asking for the flag to be taken out. It goes in and we win the back nine!

Ben and I win 4 and 2 with Birdieing the 16th
Shot of the day was Bens chunk and run with a rescue club on the 9th!

Oliver Bettis hit amarker post on the fly, and bounced out of bounds!

Highwoods 9/511

Playing with Tim against Tom And Ali.



1. Blocked a tee shot on 13 and was behind the trees and a bush.Had a good lie and cut a nine iron up over the trees and landed on the back tier of the green and stopped dead. Greens were very hard.
2. Drive on the 2nd , against the wind, Tim and Ali messing around up the right and I hit a good one up the right with a slight draw, goes about 300 yards and leaves me a wedge to the green.
3. Cut up on 4, flag on the bottom level. Have to fly over the corner of the bunker and land on a down slope, almost play it too well and it stops short by 10 feet. Roll the putt in and it takes us to 5 up!
4. Bunker shot on 14, left hand greenside bunker after pulling approach, notice the sand is shallow and play a contolled shot that runs out to 6" from the hole.

Tim and I win 5 and 3!
